On a Thursday afternoon, my best friend and I decided to have our late lunch at Pizza Republic. After satisfying our pizza cravings, we made up our mind to have our dessert at Avalanche Ice Cream Shop. They're the first in Cebu to use liquid Nitrogen as part of the freezing process of their ice cream.
Aside from having a hard time looking for their shop, we also had a serious tough break looking for a parking space. Anyway, after 20 minutes, we found our lucky spot. YEYYYY. Upon entering, the crowd cheered and asked for our autographs. lol kidding. Upon entering, the place was swarming with people. They only have 12 lucky seats. So, we decided to order first. We ordered their famous SMOKIN BROWNIES and HONEY BUTTERMILK ice cream. The ice cream costs php 95 while the brownies costs php 78. I find it a little pricey for seven small blocks of chocolate brownies. Well to enjoy it, you must dip the brownies into the liquid nitrogen and wait 3-4 seconds before eating. However, their ice cream was heavenly! IT. TASTED. SO. GOOD. You guys will surely love it, I swear!
(SMOKIN BROWNIES)
The longer time that the brownie chunks were dipped into the liquid nitrogen, the more "smoke" it releases. Don't wait for your brownies to freeze, therefore, you have to eat it right away. Honestly, we really had fun! Be careful not to spill or have skin contact with the liquid nitrogen. Don't worry, their staffs will remind you and are patient enough to explain how everything works and were too kind to have our liquid nitrogen refilled TWICE. After having too much fun of smokin brownies, our tongues stings! There's this mild frostbite discomfort.
(YEP! She's having a hard time eating the brownie away from the toothpick. Don't wait for it to freeze, eat it right away!)
So far, it was a fun and a memorable experience! I highly recommend that you guys should try Avalanche Ice Cream Shop! The only downfall is their small space. Aside from that, It's all good! Thumbs up!
